Sounds like alot of tire spinning or really hard driving. I have 13k and owned it since new for 1.5 years. Rotated the tires normally and they show basically no wear. I have only spun the tires maybe 1 or 2 times getting use to how it drives and I dont get on it hard or drive it hard.

I have nearly 15000 Km on my outie and the tires are still good whit a lot of tread on it. I live in Canada to and let just say that I was happy to have my Winter Tire on for the amount of snow wegot in the Ottawa/Gatineau region I don't know How you managed to run your 4 season all winter.

Greetings

Our Outlander weighs in at nearly 4000 pounds. I use my Outlander daily like no other poster I have read here. I drive 70 miles a day with approx. 195 30-0 mph stops and starts. I have aftermarket wheels and tires on my vehicle and am on my 3rd. yes, 3rd. set of tires. I average about 10,500 miles per set. The vehicle now has 21,600 total miles on it. Just wait, many here will be starting to replace brake pads and rotors. I wore out the factory set (all 4 corners) with just shy of 7000 miles total. I posted a "how to" with pictures on replacing the pads. The front rotors were re-surfaced and aftermarket "Wagner" pads were installed. I have not "heard" from them since and have nearly 37,000 stops and starts on them not counting after hours use. I also can add that I have used the "4WD LOCK" feature 95% of its lifetime and have had no problems or indication of problems. I own an IR temp scanner and have "shot" the diff's on several occasions and not seen any temps above 180º. Considering the outside temps are now in the 80-90º range I find this acceptable. I have noticed an interesting side effect, when the transmission starts to get near critical temps the paddle shifter is locked out and the AC fan starts without the AC running to cool the trans cooler that is a standard equipment feature.

Tires, 2 of my co-workers drive 4WD one a Jeep and one an Escape, they have the same life on tires as I do and possibly less as they are both on set #3 of Goodyear whatever is standard from factory. They both started out new as I did and run less miles and fewer stops per day. They keep asking about my Outlander and how much maintenance I do and I tell them "I am extremely happy I bought this instead of a Ford or Jeep as I have not had 1 dealer visit", unlike them. A tranny issue, a rack and pinion replacement and both have had AC issues. Nearly bullet proof the Outlander is.

here is a suggestion, either check your owners manual warranty paperwork or stop out to the dealership. Sometimes things like that are covered for 12k miles or the first 12 months if they are defective. Only a dealer would be able to answer that question. So, just take it in. I've got 28k on my 2006 Outlander and the tires still look good. I'll probably replace them before next winter.
