Question Advice on buying 2007 Outlander

Hi Guys
Im a newbie here but could do with your experience please.
i am about to buy a 2007 Outlander Elegance 2.0Diesel. Its got pretty much every option ticked so has the nav system with massive RF sub in the boot. Nice. the special price - due to my attatchment to the company - is £8000.
but it has done 119500 miles.... it was a company car and so therefore was maintained properly etc. It was also used to tow a caravan from time to time.
it has had a new head gasket - about 18000 miles ago.

So the question is.... in your experience - although the models havent been around that long - do you have any thoughts on the possible longevity of the engine?
Likewise, is there anything that i should look out for? any regular problems that appear?
And although the nav and audio is great, has it been reliable?

Id really appreciate any advice you have. having been stung for thousands in repairs with a high mileage 5 series before my current quite dull but very reliable Mondeo ST TDCI.

Thanks a lot.... and hope to be able to contribute once im the (possible) owner of my first Mistsubishi.

For the most part diesels are very reliable vehicles. I think they are the bomb. BUT think about it the mitsu really wasn't designed to be towing a caravan, even if it is on occasion. A blown head gasket on a diesel for the most part isn't a common failure. Even thought the Mitsu was fleet vehicle isn't much consolation on it being meticulously maintained, or regularly maintained. It might have a lot of nice bells and whistles. But it is a small vehicle with a SMALL engine that has been used for towing and has had a blown head gasket. Another thing to think about is the transmission. If the vehicle has hard tow miles, the trans could be on its way out. Sound like you have good information on the vehicle. I.myself would pass on purchasing this vehicle. just my 2 cents.

wow, 120k miles on an 07 is amazing! I thought my wife drives a lot and she's almost at 56k miles. I think you'll be hard pressed to find another with that many miles.
