Aftermarket DVD NAV unit - lost rear speakers
Hi,
After installing a aftermarket DVD NAV unit in my 2007 Outlander, the rear door speakers stopped working. When one tunes the fader control towards the rear, it merely attenuates the front speakers until there is no sound at all.
The unit came with a Can bus decoder to interface with the original R/F sound system. All other functions and steering controls work perfectly.
Has anyone come across this problem? and is there a fix?
PS. I tested the output signal from the unit on all 4 channels and it is fine and responds correctly to the fader settings.

Most "canbus" adapters for RF amp are crap. Instead of properly controlling the amp they just turn it on.
Try reconnecting your original radio and set fader using it, the amp might be still following previous settings.
If it does not work then your adapter is faulty.
