Default Aftermarket Roof Rack?

I just bought an 07 Outlander ES. I spent a lot of time and effort researching before I chose the Outlander. I chose the ES model because it had all of the accessories I cared about except for a roof rack. I had planned to purchased one aftermarket, but I have not been able to fine one. Does anyone know why Mitsubishi doesn't offer the roof rack as an accessory? Or does anyone know where I can find one?

ehh, I wouldnt put anything marked "universal" on my car, but thats just me.
I would give mitsu a call, or just wait a couple months for the aftermarket to catch up.

hello:
i also have the outlander 07 ES model. i was insistant that the dealer include the roof rails to make the sale. the dealer had a difficult time getting the rails because they are not an official accessory. to that end he had to order each part separately and the deal was i install it myself. i have no idea how much it cost the dealer but here are the part numbers:

78929 (6) bolts
78008L left front rail cap
78008R right front rail cap
78029L left rail
78029R right rail
78018L left mid support cap
78018R right mid support cap
78009L left rear end cap
78009R right rear end cap

the only pieces that iseem to be missing is the clips that the bolts screw into. ifanyone on the forum could help i would greatly appreciate it. thanks in advance

I had the impression mistu original parts came with the prefix "M". And after market roof racks has been readily available when he Outlander came out (Thule, Yakima, etc). In fact in some markets (AU?), the roof racks accessories offered by Mitsu is 3rd party (Thule?). But it would be good news if those were original mitsubishi parts. Price.. [sm=smiley25.gif]
