Default air filter

would it be worth it to buy a 60 dollar k and n air filter instead of the regular 15 dollar one, just wondering if it would really make a little difference in performance or be worth teh money

I purchased K & N filters for many of my cars....your not going to see a big gain in power....but it will help your gas mileage out alittle and also it lasts forever....

thats a question up to you. a one time $60 = 4x $15.

air filters should be changed every 7500 (if you live in dusty or do off-roading) to 15000 miles.

Are you planning on modding the stock airbox at all?
How long are you planning on keeping the car for is also something to consider.
I bought my K&N and used it for maybe two months at most and then changed to the Redneck CAI. I think it's still in my "car cabinet" in the garage if you're interested make an offer.

there wont be a big difference honestly, but it will save you money- especially if you live in dusty areas and a little bit in gas- maybe 1MPG.

This is true... When I first got my car I was ecstatic to see a 1MPG gain as my average fuel economy was 16-17 MPG. Fortunately it has risen to 19-21 MPG combined now- which is still on the low side though.

for drop inn filter (k & n ) theres a lil' diffrence, lil' bit of hp's. and yes your gas mil. will go up....esp. open air element intakes, reason is : the volume of air is getting proccesed by your computer, and heck computer see's a large vol. of air. which means needs more fuel to mix 50/50 combustion. and if you take it easy w/ your pedal, everything should be in smooth operation. but if you wanna drop that heavy foot to hear the roar of a savage beast, then good luck and save more money for your gas.
