Default Alarm set off by rain!

Help- my neighbours are falling out with me as my 2008 Outlander alarm is activated by rain. Not heavy rain-just light showers. I've tried making sure the auto settings for wipers are off, holding the lever up after turning the engine off, deactivating the internal alarm, manually locking the door. So far it seems to be going off every 7 minutes and nothing is working to stop the alarm. If I leave it unlocked-it locks itself. The alarm flashes 4 times which I think suggests it's a bonnet sensor issue. Any suggestions of how I can prevent this in the short term before I can get the garage to look at it?

Hmmmmm...It;s defff a sensor for sure....never heard of that one...maybe try parking in a more protected spot if possible..or maybe a car cover/tarp?
let us know what the mechanic finds out...best of luck.

Thank you!

I've now spoken to the garage and they reckon it's the bonnet sensor where damp has got in. Temporary fix is to open drivers door, press internal lock then manually lock drivers door. Alarm should be disabled. ..I hope.

Hi,
I have no idea what kind of alarm you have, etc - but in one of my previous vehicles - there was an alarm on it where you could adjust the sensitivity - I don't know how - but my mechanic was able to tweak it with a screwdriver, turning it up or down. Not sure if that would be helpfol or not in your case. Good luck!
