I heard that Yokohama Avid TRZ are good tires for the Outlander, and they are not as pricey as the Michelins Primacy or Good Year Comfort. Those 2 are maybe a little better than the Yoko, but are more expensive.
My Goodyear LS2 are shot too, going to change to probably Yokohamas soon...

i have the yokos on right now and its really great.
I rotate my tires every 5000 miles and the OE's lasted me around 17700 miles. At that milage, I can see the wear bar already and needs to be replaced. I noticed I lost grip on the road while turninng as it begins to sqqqqueeekkk!

i put on the Goodyear Wrangler SilentArmour All-Terrain and love it.
i up sized to 235/70 R16.
be prepared to lose out on fuel economy though.
but nothing like a silent aggressive looking tire with some Kevlar in it.
here's a good comparison chart but it is not 100% accurate cause the number of reviewers vary for each tire type so you'll have to make your own conclusion:

just to add a little bit of an idea. my service manager ( he ran a tire shop for 10 years ) we are on the debate for changing the tires on my outie. we are probably going to up it to a 235 tire. were checking out the list of available tires for that.

i have deliberately driven it a few times during heavy snowfall and i'm impressed. and i take every opportunity to play around in unploughed parking lots and so on.
initially i wanted the legendary BFG TA KOs but they are pretty loud and i wanted something quiet.
if you decide to get it, make sure it is the Wrangler SilentArmour and not the Fortera SilentArmour. totally different beasts.
as for the size, it makes the car look much more aggressive with the wider tires. but you will pay for for in terms of gas mileage however. i used to be able to do 32/26 with ease and now i can only do 28/22 and that's with a light foot. and i run 36psi nitrogen at the moment.

Elisha, you upgrade your tire size from 215/70/16 to 235/70/16?? Is that more than 3 % in diameter difference??
