Default Arggghhh - now I have a check engine light!

Really struggling with my wretched '07 Outlander. I have just replaced the gearbox (at vast expense) after the 'box died at just 128k miles..... Within 24 hrs the car wouldn't start - that turned out to be the starter motor needing a rebuild and a bad earth.
Now the bl**dy thing has a check engine light on
The code it is throwing is P0487 ..... which looks to point to EGR valve. I note that my OBDII software is saying the throttle is fully open all the time. Can anyone throw me a bone here? Where does one start with this one? where is the EGR valve on these engines? I am one step away from finding the nearest cliff to push this damned POS over.....

On the v6 it's just next to or on top of the water hose pipes from engine block on side. I don't know how to screenshot things lol, not it literate
