Another option - the iPhone comes with a cable that is iPod to USB, and an adapter for USB to wall power. This would fit and probably supplies the typical 5V. It's basically like this:

But the factory one is even smaller - can't find a pic though.
You can get this one for $2.99, not sure on clearances but I know the iPhone factory one will.

Just plug it into our built in power inverter instead of a lighter.

Printerman, today I was with dealer and the models 2008 (XLS) that are sold in Mexico have this accessory. Install OEM inversor Ac is possible, but it is necessary to verify if in our Out if the prewiring exists; of being thus, it is necessary to acquire the necessary hardware and a reprogramming to the ETACS by dealer is required. I check in my Out and have the prewired, this is what I made:

Also does the OEM still fit if the OEM amp is also installed? JSRD did you also replace your center console already, if so was the cable for the outlet already prewired as well?
Confirmation that this cable is also present on a 07' XLS
The side panel is secured with quick clips you should have no problem removing it with just your hands. Once you locate the jack you will find its secured using mits favorite securing method you guessed it more electrical tape.
