Default AutoStick problem

I have a 2003 Outlander XLS.

The transmission is working fine but if I flip it over for Auto Shift it just doesn't respond. A number used light up on the dash and you could shift up and down. Now it just works like it's in normal mode. Is there a module or something that needs testing?

Thanks

Chuck

You do realize that by creating a username containing your email address, that you're going to get spammed beyond belief, right?

Is there a reason why you need to manually shift an automatic transmission? Or do you just like to pretend like you're driving a manual?

Damaged harness in shift lever switch. Somewhat common issue for 1st gen Outlanders - a bit too short wire breaks due to tension.

Thanks much. I only use it to downshift in the winter and on hills. Anyone know how hard it it to get to/fix?

Yeah, find the broken wire, and re-run it.

It's easy if you know what you're doing, not easy if you don't.
