New to the forum.

Had a question regarding the aux input on my new outlander 2016.

The question is the MMCS comes with a AUX enable/disable option but the car has no AUX input whatsoever. Was wondering on how a AUX port could be installed in the new outlander? would it placed in the center arm rest box where 12 amp power port + usb port reside or would it be placed in the sealed of patch next to the car lighter ahead of the cup holder area.

The MMCS manual mentions AUX all over it and the selection is also available in the voice commands but there is nothing hooked up to the unit so you can plug in. Since it in mentioned in the book I told the dealer I want it working. Also the limit for the usb seems to be incorrect because I cant get it to read all the files on a 32gb USB stick even though I am within the file limit mentioned in the manual. If they can't fix these issues I am thinking about legal action due to the misrepresentation of the units capabilities.

I too am curious if you were able to resolve this. I have a 2015 Outlander and while my head unit has an AUX input in the modes, there is no AUX input in the car. I called the dealer and they told me that you have to use the USB connect. It works, but the interface is clunky and you can't navigate it while the car is in motion...not even the passenger. Would like to add an AUX in if possible.

 

There is no aux port and the manuals incorrectly say that there is one. Mitsubishi's response was sorry about that. They really took a step backwards with this head unit. The unit in my 2007 beat the hell out of the 2016. The Nav is worse too. Total waste of money for the this option.
