Hello, I'm shopping this weekend for a used Outlander, under $20,000. Are there any particular years that are known for problems and defects etc.?

07-09 are pretty much the same vehicle. I'd definitely go with a 4wd, makes a great difference. Properly maintained, these are rock solid with only minor problems.

I picked our 07 up with 30k miles in '09 for $16k. I'm sure you can find an XLS for under $20k. They did change the trim lines over the years, I'd go to edmunds.com and look it over.

We looked at the RAV4, CRV, Tiguan....Outlander won hands down. Great power, handling, gas mileage.
