Default Bluetooth for 2012 Outlander

I just purchased a 2012 Outlander. It has the external controls for Bluetooth, but does not have the installation. I was told upon purchasing it that all I needed was to find a wiring harness (or t-harness?) for about $30 and have this installed. They said I would save money this way and could have it done at a Best Buy or similar outfit.

I have not had success in finding this part on the internet, and Best Buy had no idea what I am talking about. The only "part" is the full $300 bluetooth/USB package.

I have called the dealer asking for a Part Number but even the parts guy didn't know what I was talking about.

I'm wondering if they told me this to pacify me so I would buy the car. Thoughts?

You do need to install the BT kit to use BT, part# MZ314537

Or go back to the sales guy for more specific info. good luck.

You need the bluetooth module and a sales guy that knows what he is talking about.

I purchased a 2012 GT and made the module as part of the sale.

Go back to the dealership, find the lying sales weasel and the manager and have a talk with them. Tell what the liar told you and what the parts dept told you.

I made mine part of the sale-I bought the module for dealership cost and paid labor to indtall. Totaled about $265.00

Thanks all, I finally heard back from the dealer today and they told me that it was possible to just buy a wiring harness on older models, but not this model. They offered to install the Bluetooth/USB package at no cost if I buy the part. Not the perfect answer, but good enough.

Good for you. Tell them since that the salesman lied to you, request a discount on the module. You should be getting a 10% discount card with your owners package, but I'd try to get more.
