Well, got into car last night and no connection, did what someone said and
switched off bluetooth on the phone and back on and it connected first
time??..

Only thing I can think of is that the phone is to problem and not the Outlander.

Thanks for the ideas folks..

I have a 2007 Outlander loaded with the Forsgate. PLEASE help! Somehow the bluetooth got disconnected. Now only display I get is "Listening". I can not get the pairing prompt.
Phone is a Blackberry Curve. While I normally need to go through a ridiculous process to connect each time, I have accepted that, but I live in my car and need this to work.
THANKS!

Sounds like you might have a bad BT module.

Try un-pairing your phone. Wipe everythng clean and re-do the pairing.

Maybe try with a different phone. That will narrow it down to phone or BT module.

Had the same problem with an older Nokia phone. I called Mit and they said it was not an "approved" phone, so this is likely why phone would occasionally not connect.

Two weeks ago we bought a ZTE F160 -- a very simple, no frills, non-smart -- phone. The thing was bone simple to pair with the vehicle and it has linked up instantly every single time we've had it in the car.

I have an 08 XLS and my phone also disconnects at random times as well. I'm pretty sure it's the vehicle since when you ask to list paired phones, it says "No paired deviecs" I've used many different phones, S3 iPhone 5c, Nokia N8, and many others, so it's definitely something faulty with the cars bluetooth modules.

Called my dealership and there are no firmware updates for their head units available...

I think we just need to look at aftermarket head units for a permanent fix...

Default Bluetooth issues

Hi!

I have a 2012 Outlander and was able to connect both my iPod and Android phone to the bluetooth. As time progressed, I am no longer able to have them both connected. I have had to erase everything and start over three times. If I connect one, the other disconnects and my phone does not connect automatically anymore. Any ideas?

Thanks!
