Burning smell 4WD

Burning smell 4WD
Hey guys,
Recently we had a lot of snow here in NJ so I got to use my Outlanders 4WD system. Anyway, recently I usually put the car in 4WD mode (non-Lock) and it seems that at higher speeds (lets say I drive on the Turnpike at speeds over 60 MPH for over 20 minutes) after a while I get a burning rubber kind of smell from the rear. Has anyone experienced something similar? Everything seems to be working fine and I don't get any warning or overheating messages. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Same hear from SI NY 30+" of snow, thought I was being a bit harsh on her didn't knock down a couple of 4' drifts along my 30' driveway so threw her in lock and disabled traction,,of course had some wheel spin here and there, but not enough to heat up tires, but i did smell it once I got to the head of the driveway
did anyone ask the service people if this is normal? I'd hate to ask mine cause it's like talking to a wall with them
this was the first time I had this in "snow" and "lock" mode maybe it was a break in smell?? was this the first time you had it in 4W ??
anyway no change in performance (least non that I can See or feel)
been driving her in "tarmac" for the past couple of days and no smell
been oly using "snow" when I get in and out of the driveway (yes, sanitation still did not plow my block, thank god for the warmer weather)
I had doubts with this little trucks capabilities but man she sure proved herself this past week with the heavy snow we had
let us know if you hear anything Re: the smell

I have the same issue. I really thought I had some major mechanical problem. I checked the brakes, hoses, made sure tires had ample clearance, etc. etc. and still had the smell. I was thinking I was going to have to rip the whole rear end off.
Glad to know its normal. Well, as normal as the smell of burning rubber can be.
