Default Buying a 2014, options questions

I am too used to buying used, I feel out of my depth here. If anyone can help me, I'd greatly appreciate it. I get a lot of double talk from the dealerships.

-Remote start. The keyless entry that comes with the vehicle works within close proximity to start it, no? How close? Is it worth it to get the All Weather package, to avoid problems with the smart keys and all that comes with it? Or am I better off going with a reputable installer? I am in Upstate NY and find it odd that it is hard to find Outlanders with the All weather preinstalled at the dealerships.

They are trying to talk me into the undercoating protection. I believe with the newer cars, this causes more problems than it solves. Am I wrong?

What addons do you think are worth the extra money?

Thank you very much for any help.

I wouldn't do the undercoating. My '07 LS only has light surface rust on the underside...however in KC we don't quite see as much salt as you guys do.

As far as an "All Weather" package...what does that entail? It is not mentioned on their national page as an option.

Default All Weather is remote car start and rubber floor mats.

I was on their page, and now it is not. Curiouser and curiouser.

I'd go for better quality products and buy a viper remote start. I have the 2 way 1 button remote. Damn small so it fits in my pocket but has a range of 2,000'. and it beeps to confirm that the engine has started.

As for floor mats, get the weather tech floor mats. Nicer setup and ride higher on the side walls of the floor.

Although, I will admit, I do love the bi-fold trunk matt for the 2014....about the only thing I'm jealous of on the 2014....granted I never used the 3rd row. Still a pretty cool trunk matt
