Calling all Outlander 2008 need some advise!
HI All,
I am new to forum and hope to get an answer for my problem. I am sorry if someone already post this.
Bought a car a year ago with 160000km and changed timing belt, transmission oil, etc... The car run great and love the car. Now the car has 200000km. I used to own MDX and has transmission problem and drink too much gas.
Recently I got 2 recall regarding LCA and wiper something. I haven't had any time to make an appointment with dealer beside I have replaced both of my LCA before I got the letter. I am not sure if I can get the money back for my LCA.
There is an other problem with my blower. it is the same sound as this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ydp0MVITmb0
I started to search and found that NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V233000 recalled blower from year 2009 and up. I am not sure why 2008 is not included. Transport Canada also had this Recall # 2015166.
I contacted my dealer yesterday and ask about my blower and he said my car is not in the list. Oh well since mine is 2008, so i didn't say much. I start going though NHTSA and checked all related document regarding this recall and found this document https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/201...5V233-9302.pdf. The defective part number is CSA431D214 so I went to my car and check and see that my blower part number is CSA431D214. I have the defective part number in my car.
1. I wonder does anyone with outlander 2008 has the same defective blower like mine?
2. What should I do and why is 2008 Outlander not in the recall list?
Thank you

I fought with my blower motor years ago on my '07. not sure why '07 & '08 weren't in the recall, but that's the way it goes sometimes.
The first time mine died, I pulled it completely apart and tried to lubricate it...that worked for about a year. I then tried to buy an aftermarket...that was a really bad idea as well...lots of whining noises. I ended up buying one from the dealer...has worked for years now. I know they are a bit salty, but they work as they should.
They are also incredibly easy to replace. I have a thread on it from years ago.
I hadn't heard of the LCA recall, but there is a crossmember recall out there. I too had to replace my LCAs...the rear bushing on the passenger side slipped out and was rubbing on the frame. Fortunately, aftermarket has really come down in prices.
