Default Can I convert from fastkey to the old way?

Am I the only one that thinks the fast key thing is odd?
I am a male so I don't carry a purse

I am just more comfortable using a key to start a car rather than carrying a bulkier than normal fob that gives my car permission to start.

Ideally I just want keyless entry (you know the beep beep thing)
and then put a key in the ignition.

is there some sort of conversion for people like me that don't want things in their pockets and also dont want to toss their keys in the cupholder.

just got the 07 today and that is my only issue. This seems like a silly use of technology.

For the record I am hitech. I am a software engineer. Didn't want to give the impression I was a grumpy old man (although I am going to be that guy)

As soon as you said "bulky" to describe your fob I knew it was a '07. The fob's since '08 are very small, much smaller than the regular key.

I have two Mitsubishi's, one with FAST key and one with keyless and I hate the old system compared to the FAST key. I think if you give it a chance you will learn to appreciate it.

If not you can use a regular key. The plastic cover you twist to start the car pops off. A key will go into the slot (in fact there is a key hidden in the fob). If you really just want a smaller key buy one of the newer fobs.

Wow, I am shocked that anyone would want to go to "old way" or say that keyfob is bulky. I don't see myself going to "key days" anymore. How small are your pockets that you can't fit a keyfob? I have the keyfob for 07 which I use and it fits perfectly in small jeans pocket. I also added backup keyfob for 08+ model that is smaller, but I don't like its shape as much when fitting in the same jeans pocket.

whats the difference, dont they do the same thing? which one is the correct one. dont both have the smart key?. i kinda like the version i shown cuz its all one piece, the other has the key inside and has to be separated, more prone to loosing the key. but that's just my way of thinking.

The difference is huge where you don't need to fumble with any keys any longer. It's all with a push of button while your keyfob is in the pocket. There is backup key inside, but it would likely never get used.

Cheech...the model you posted is a key with keyless entry functions. That is not a fast key. You have to physically insert the that key into the Outlander's ignition to start.

What klas posted is a FAST KEY.... no key needed to start the Outlander. No button pressed or key needed to unlock the Outlander.

The older version of the fast key is much bulkier than the newer version.
