Can I convert from fastkey to the old way?

Cheech...the model you posted is a key with keyless entry functions. That is not a fast key. You have to physically insert the that key into the Outlander's ignition to start.
What klas posted is a FAST KEY.... no key needed to start the Outlander. No button pressed or key needed to unlock the Outlander.
The older version of the fast key is much bulkier than the newer version.

Am I the only one that thinks the fast key thing is odd?
I am a male so I don't carry a purse
I am just more comfortable using a key to start a car rather than carrying a bulkier than normal fob that gives my car permission to start.
Ideally I just want keyless entry (you know the beep beep thing)
and then put a key in the ignition.
is there some sort of conversion for people like me that don't want things in their pockets and also dont want to toss their keys in the cupholder.
just got the 07 today and that is my only issue. This seems like a silly use of technology.
For the record I am hitech. I am a software engineer. Didn't want to give the impression I was a grumpy old man (although I am going to be that guy)

mitsubishi KEYLESS REMOTE FOB CONTROL NEW UNCUT KEY fob | eBay...
Then you can remove the blank key on the steering column and use the key like on a Outlander without the FAST KEY setup. You must also have the key programed first.

sorry for bringing back an older thread but my question was not answered. will the 2008 outlander keyless Fast fob key work in a 2007 with the same keyless fast fob system? i need another remote, i only have one and im trying to see if it works or else i will pick up another bulky 2007 model.

Never mind i found out myself. went to the dealer and i got the info. So to answer anyone's question in regards to the smart key remote. If you have a 2007 outlander with the smart key remote you CANNOT replace it with 2008-09 model smart key remote.
