Can I convert from fastkey to the old way?

What klas posted is a FAST KEY.... no key needed to start the Outlander. No button pressed or key needed to unlock the Outlander.

The older version of the fast key is much bulkier than the newer version.
ohhhhhhhhh, i thought they were both fast key, ok wow u save me a bunch of money. i appreciate the quick answer. ok as far as the model hey has shown sure compared to the 07 model its night and day much nicer.

The OP was asking about a FAST Key, but maybe he meant converting from a regular remote key because I don't see any benefit in converting a FAST Key.

I am a male so I don't carry a purse

I am just more comfortable using a key to start a car rather than carrying a bulkier than normal fob that gives my car permission to start.

Ideally I just want keyless entry (you know the beep beep thing)
and then put a key in the ignition.

is there some sort of conversion for people like me that don't want things in their pockets and also dont want to toss their keys in the cupholder.

just got the 07 today and that is my only issue. This seems like a silly use of technology.

For the record I am hitech. I am a software engineer. Didn't want to give the impression I was a grumpy old man (although I am going to be that guy)
You can purchase a key like what cheech mentioned.
mitsubishi KEYLESS REMOTE FOB CONTROL NEW UNCUT KEY fob | eBay...
Then you can remove the blank key on the steering column and use the key like on a Outlander without the FAST KEY setup. You must also have the key programed first.

Never mind i found out myself. went to the dealer and i got the info. So to answer anyone's question in regards to the smart key remote. If you have a 2007 outlander with the smart key remote you CANNOT replace it with 2008-09 model smart key remote.
