does anyone know if the DVD system plays divx,avi files ??

manny, according to RES user's manual:

Suppoted disc types:
* DVD-VIDEO, DVD-AUDIO. DVD-AUDIO/VIDEO
* Music CD: CD-R/CD-RW, CD-TEXT, MP3/WMA
* Video CD: disc recorded in NTSC/PAL format

divx/avi format isn't supported
