Car going into "sleep" mode after being stood for a week.
I have a 2007 Outlander Diesel Elegance with the MMCS system.
The following has happened to me twice now :
My door key (manual operation) doesn't work, I keep meaning to get the car into the garage to get it fixed, and will do so this week.
However, on 2 occasions I have been on holiday and left the car standing for 7 days.
When I come back to the vehicle, it doesn't respond at all to the remote fob - I can't unlock it using the fob.
On both occasions, the breakdown company has had to use a little inflatable bag thing to bend the door a little and use a wire to pull the door handle from the inside.
As soon as you pull the handle, the door opens and the alarm goes off. If you then put the key in the ignition you can start the vehicle easily and the fob starts working perfectly again.
Has anyone come across this before after leaving the car for an extended period ?
