Default Central locking issue

Im having issues with the central locking on my 2008 outlander (non keyless entry), upon pressing the unlock or lock button on the key the hazard lights flash however there is no response from the locking mechanism. The fuse for the locking was blown and once replaced with a new one it blew right away, I tried disconnecting each door lock however its not them. Does any one have any ideas on what is causing this issue?

you have a short to ground on any one of the wires involved in your lighting - DO NOT attempt to jumper the fuse or you will fry your BCM - disconnect one harness at a time and check to see if it blows a fuse, and the replace the fuse and move to the next connector, it's a pain but after a couple dozen fuses, you will find the short (or use a test light if you know how to set it up) Goo d Luck

Thanks for that, will be a tiresome job but hope to find the issue, by lighting do you mean the wiring to the actual headlights etc?
