Anybody hear aboutchanging blind red radio display to new white one?

As I know - white radio display will be installed on Outlander 09 model year w/o NAVI.
White radio display will be accessible as part of guarantee campaign.

Who saw this white displays? Looks better than red?
Who changed them?

 

I have not seen them yet... however, I know of a few people who have changed the red plastic filter to either green or clear plastic. I am thinking of changing mine from red to green. Red is hard on the eyes especially if you have been driving for many hours.

 

I agree red is a poor choice of color to be seen in sunlight, but I also think the black dashboard which absorbs rather than reflects light and the fact the display is up higher on the dash also contributes to the problem in sunlight. I've found if a cup my hand above the display to block out some of the sunlight I can make out the display. If mitsu were to put a small visor just above the display it would help.

 

Anybody hear about 09 model year differences?
Our dealer said that white display will be factory provided.

 

Haven't heard about 09, but I think that someone did it themself a few months ago, all he did was remove the red filter in front of the original display and it was white.
I certainly want the display to be brighter, but I'm not sure I will like the look of having a white display and everything else being red!

 

Our dealer promised Keless entry withStart/Stop engine key, rain sensor and white display as main benefits of09 model year.
Very strange that nobody heard about 09 MY...

I saw somewhere photos with self-made bright display. Not sure that I want similar... Light-green color not compared with other reddisplays and LEDs.
I hope that "factory white" screen will be equal with white speed/rev meter.
