Clicking sound from center console
Hey guys,
I have purchased my 2009 Outlander ES 4WD in November, everything has been good up until today. I have around 5500 miles on it. Anyway, my issue, just happened today, whenever I press the brake pedal (it happens only when transmission lever is in park (P) position), there is a loud clicking noise coming what appears to be transmission area. Up until now I have never had this noise, everything was nice and quiet. I assume its the park-lock release but again, the noise just came in after 5500 miles. Is this something I should be concerned about? Is there a relatively easy fix for this? I don't want my dealership to disassemble the CVT tranny because I know it's not the easiest to work with and I don't want them to really mess it up. Any help/input would be appreciated.
Thanks.
EDIT: I have searched this forum and I see that it is a quite common occurrence, dealerships are saying that it is a "normal" occurence, but how can it be normal when for 6 months there was no noise and all of a sudden now there is :s
