Disconnect and clean the battery cable terminals. Battery tested good? What kind of tester did you use to verify this. A volt meter across the positive and negative terminals wont be a test of a good or bad battery. If you did use a battery tester, how many CCA's did the tester show and how many CCA's is your battery rated for?

No, not a weak battery, he said he had it checked out and if voltage is within range, it shouldn't click like that.
Definitely corroded terminals or corroded ground connection. Get a wire brush, they make them specifically to clean terminals.

The only easy test for the battery is a voltage drop test.
Put a voltmeter on the battery post and have someone crank the starter.
If it drop at 9 volts or less replace the battery.
If it stay above 10 volts then look for corroded wire.
A battery with oxidized plate can show 12+volts but as only the power of a lantern 12 volts battery i.e. drop dead at any large demand.

Most auto parts store, at least all the stores i've been to in the states have a battery load tester. It's actually in their best interest to fail your battery and sell you a new one, so they are biased towards failing it. So if they passed it, it must be good.
The load tester charges your battery, then puts a load on it while measuring voltage the entire time. So it gives some indication of capacity, not just voltage.
I had this clicking noise on my escort back in the day. It was exactly as you describe with the clicking, it was a corroded terminal where the wire meets the terminal. I had to take it apart and clean the wire and terminal.
I've also had numerous dead batteries in vehicles before as well, at work and at home. Never had the clicking from a bad battery.
