ORIGINAL: smurph

So far no problems similar and it's been just as cold up here in Edmonton. . Hopefully we get out of the deep freeze soon. Hasn't been this cold in a lonnng time.
x2, in Edmonton with an 08 XLS, haven't had the clunks yet. A bit shifty going into reverse here and there, but no lights or issues.

I go that issue too, very scary.
I bring my car right to the dealer.
They found a chip like you say that froze, they change it,
no problem like that so far.
But the same, i was at my girlfriend house, drive for 10 min, stop my car, like for 15 min, start the car, no probleme, then reverse, then the probleme start.
Big Clunch, cant go more than 20 km/h.

I have also had this problem twice. Same thing was explained, about frost on a relay. The clunk is highly noticable when shifting to reverse. Dealer said the part was supposed to come in on 02/11/08, but still hasn't received it. Sucks since the engine won't rev any higher than 1500 rpm's, so I have to put on the hazard lights when I'm at a red light.

Who can say what type of relay dealer changed?

Please list the part number or any information you can about this relay. My dealer won't change it unless I arrive there with the codes present in my system, and I've reset them since the original incident. I would be happy to buy the part and change it out myself, if it will save my drivetrain from another beating like that, just to set the codes for my "stealership".

Here is all the information on this TSB 07-13-009 as I finally got the my Outlander fixed after waiting a month for the parts. The problem only happened to me once and it was -20 F that day so I do not think this problem is a summer problem. I found 3 different pages about the TSB.
Be advised that I also found TSB 07-13-009 (Dated NOV 2007) for a 2008 LANCER fuel problem.

TSB 07-13-009
date: DECEMBER 2007
Affected Vehicles:
2007-2008 Outlander (2.4 4 cyl. & 3.0 V6) built before NOV 20, 2007
2008 Lancer built before NOV 20, 2007
Part #:8627A011 Qty: 4
