Connecting Rear DVD Screens Only
Hi All,
I'm looking to connect rear 9" headrest screens ( sunk into rear of front seat headrests) to my mitsubishi DVD player, I know there are connectings within the rear centre console, just unsure how to go about doing the job, I have read several other posts on connecting roof mounted DVD players, Ipods etc, but nothing on just screens along, I only need a picture as the sound would be through the standard speakers, can anyone help please..!
thanks

Hi,
I guess maybe we're unsure as to what you're after!
Are you looking to display the DVD picture from the dash mounted MMCS (i.e. the DVD player) on the headrest screens?
- If so, there's no video feed from the dash to the rear (rear of the centre console) of the car, all that's wired from the rear console to the AUX input of the MMCS is the stereo.
- Plus I think you would have to override the 'DVD in motion' lockout on the DVD player which prevents the DVD display (for the driver) while the car is in motion (a legal requirement in UK).
Sorry to be so negative!

Hi Dashnine,
sorry for not making my post clear, just as you say I'm looking to display the DVD picture from the dash mounted MMCS on a pair of headrest screens in the rear
- is it possible to re-route cable at the rear of the MMCS to enable picture only on the rear screens, as for DVD in motion this has already been overriden, so no problem there, I didnt think it would be that difficult to do,, as dont want to go down the route of having to install a 2nd DVD player for the rear only, if I can take the picture feed only from the headunit.
any info would be much appreiciated
Thanks for replying..

See:
Second Generation Outlander Stereo Wiring - Mitsubishi Wiki
Specifically, C-19 pin 45 and 56...that should give you a standard video signal FROM the MMCS to whatever you like. You can cut a standard RCA jack and connect it to those two.
