Considering an outlander
Hello, we're considering a 2019 outlander se 2.4 awd. We would use it as the wife's daily, the occasional road trip, as long as it gets the advertised 29MPG, towing 3000-3500LBS around town often, and towing a 2400LB boat out of town a couple times a year. How would this vehicle do for this? How reliable are these outlanders?
The 2.4 Outlander doesn't fit your intended usage as it is rated to tow only 1500 lbs. per the US owners manual. The GT with the V6 is rated to tow higher. I tow my 1500 lb. aluminum boat with mine and it does fine. For 3500 lbs. I would want a larger vehicle for stability (I'm not an amateur in this as I own 6 trailers and have an F350 for serious work).
that sucks. I miss the day when every vehicle had a tow rating, and SUVs like the outlander could all tow at least 3000LBS. after having driven an RVR, I could easily see the 2.4L outlander pulling 2000-2500LBS. Oh well, on to other vehicles. Thank you.

The diesels are rated ~4500lbs, the rest ~3500lbs.
The 1500 lbs was probably the spec for unbraked trailers.
