Angry In the Dark - 2008 Outlander Interior lights mystery

Hi there,

We just got a second hand 2008 Outlander Elegance which has got a strange fault. None of the interior lights work, all 3 dome lights/map reading and any others that are meant to be there. I have of course checked the fuse which is fine and double checked it with a multimeter as well as a visual check.

It is going to go back to get the selling garage to fix it but it has really got me stumped as to what it could be (I guess short of a broken connection on the supply side of the fuse. Has anyone else ever come across this? My concern is whether the MMCS which controls the time delays etc could have a fault and be part of the problem.

Thanks in advance

It sounds like a wiring fault somewhere. MMCS doesn't control lighting, it programs the ETACS ECU to have delays...none of which can turn lights off permanently. Have you checked if there is current going to the bulb sockets?

Apologies for the delay in the up date. It turns out that every single bulb had blown........ They were replaced at the dealer and all is well. I cannot think how that happened, answers on a postcard
