Is the dash supposed to be so dim during the day?? Seems the backlight on my car doesn't even turn on until you turn on your headlights. I used the push button illumination button and set it to max, but doesn't help.

 

are your lights/parking lights on?? could be dimming due to that.

 

I tried it with both, on and off.
