Is this correct?
The airflow is going down. The fan is sucking the air in, so the made in china has to be upside down, nothing new there.

The fram I used was the same size as the Mitsubishi I removed so the foams strips were not used for lack of room for them.

I never replaced it before....I was thrown off by the MADE IN CHINA having to be upside down..

The actual long side is the same (side facing out), but the pleats bend in on the left and right so there is quite a bit of space on the short side - I could probably get the foam inserts on, but I think I recall the dealership saying they don't use them either.

There are also alot less pleats in this replacement one.

But at least it is in right

Just out of curiousity, would it have madfe any difference if it went in upside down?

The only reason there is a side up is "strength", the filter will not collapse when over filled if installed right side up but might if installed upside down.
It's a design and construction reason.

Default cabin air filter

Logical-source.com has filters for $5.41 for 2007 outlander. I have been using for years. Other autos also.

I just installed the Fram "FreshBreeze" (Arm & Hammer" type filter.)
I bought it at Canadian Tire at regular price for $29 plus tax. (The dealer wanted $52 to supply & replace it) The Fram number is CF10140 and it fit perfectly without the foam inserts. In fact, I think the Fram filter looks of better quality than the OEM filter. Installation was very easy.

Thanks for the part number.
