Default Display Types

Just picked up a used 2011 Outlander. Have a question on the display types. Looks like it has the type 1 display. What is the difference and do different models have different display types or why do they have 2 types according to the manual?

type one on lower models and it's all red
type two on top models and it's color with finer resolution.

Sorry, didn't read the question correctly.

I've go a 2011 SE model, and it has the Type II display.

Must be a marketing thing.
