Default Door Mirror Housing - Black ABS Part

Okay, so I am an idiot...

The garage and my 2010 mitsubishi outlander had a fight today. The garage won. I thought that it might be fortunate that only the outer black bezel on my mirror broke off and that the so called "cover" and "mirror glass" did not get damaged. Also, the stalk that connects to the car was not damaged at all. I was able to unscrew the necessary components (blinker, mirror) and remove them without incident. I also removed the shattered black housing that broke.

Now I have a dilemma. I don't want to pay $180 dollars for the entire mirror assembly when I have only broken the simple black bezel part that probably only has a piece cost of $5 at most. So, I need a source to find a replacement bezel.

Any ideas??? I plan on talking to the dealer tomorrow. I have also tried mitsubishipartscenter.com and seen the $180 price tag for the assembly, but am trying to avoid that price. Anyone know of some other sites/locations that I can go to or call in order to get this relatively simple part?

On a side note...that 1.5mm thick bezel is terribly designed . Just venting...

Yep part 1 is what I need, guess I might have to suck it up and drop 200 on this mishap

If anyone needs an extra body color mirror cover for their 2010 outlander, I have a dark blue one now. I just replaced my entire assembly and swapped out my cover from my old mirror.

Hi8 Sharpie,
Where did you end up getting your replacement part for the mirror and what was the cost? I have the same issue with mine. When I had the dealer (Canadian) quote a replacement mirror assy it was around $500. They could not supply only the plastic.
I recall finding a US supplier for just over $200 I believe. There must be a post on here somewhere.
BTW, I have the style mirror with the blinker.

Thanks,
Mark

Actually, I ended getting mine from a junkyard in PA from a car that had been totaled. Somehow, I lucked out and found it online by searching around for a couple of days.

Not suprising that your dealer is super expensive, I think mine wanted $360 for only parts 1 &2 combined...

I'd probably just go with the US supplier if I were you. If it's around $200 it looks like it is a good deal for this kind of thing...which is absolutely ridiculous if you ask me. I wish mitsu would have made the assembly more rigid and made the spring less resilient, then all of us would not have these issues. The bezel is only 1mm thick in some areas , terrible design.

Thanks for your reply. I guess I will just wait it out for now. Next time I am in the US I may try to pick one up.
