DRL to replace Fog kit?

DRL to replace Fog kit?
Currently I have the HID on my outtie and the DRL. I see the outtie has a fog kit sold separate also.
But what if I get the Fog kit and replace the DRL by the dealer, do the fog light comes on with the HID?
I see some cars out there have their lights below the headlights on with their main headlights.
Is that possible for that fog kit to be on at the same time when my HID is activated?

Yes, great idea for Mitsu to not allow both to be on...[sm=boosign.gif] My dealer said that that the HID's are bright enough, so there is no point to having the DRL's on at the same time. Idiots. Most cars, HID, non-HID, DRL, non-DRL, doesnt matter, if they have fog lights they usually can be used simutanously with the low-beams. Which is what we want...
DRL's have been around for a while. But now more vehicles in the US are coming standard with them then before. Insurance companies say its a safety feature, I would agree.
Now, all the US models that have HID's come with DRL, which can not be operated like Fog's (no switch). But yes with most non-US models that have HID's do have the switch to control the "fog-lights". I just dont know if the "fog-lights" on those models are called DRL's or Fog's???
Your idea of replacing your DRL's with the Fog kit might work for it will give you a switch. But theres a good chance that the DRL's are wired differently than the standard Fog's. So wiring harness might have to be changed. What we need to figure out is just how to leave the DRL's on all the time... and then we would just have Fog's on all the time.

So his "fog-lights" are probably not DRL's, but actual Fog's. So he probably had the right wiring and the switch before he got the HID's installed. Kinda backwards of what we want to do...

RE: DRL to replace Fog kit?
Has anyone bought the fog light kit yet to replace their dlr? On ebay the kit says this. If someone buys the kit and tries to plug it in, the auction says its plug and play no cutting required, then you can tell me if it worked haha.

You can replace the DRL to your fog lights or high beams. The installer will need a DRL module/harness and a resistor. Just like your low beams it will always be on. DRL module/harnesscan be ordered with the HID kit.
I am currently in the process of buying one but still need more info on HID kits and the install.

RE: DRL to replace Fog kit?
You dont understand Melvin.... if you have OEM HID, the fogs act as DRL's and areON all the time until you turn on your low beams, which are HID. We want the fogs to stay on when the low beams turn on. And no, we do not have a fog switch. Yes, they are wired differently, and yes this is a stupid concept.
