Default Dumb question..

When ever you turn your key and you hear the beep, do you just turn the key right away or do you wait for the beep to stop and the little oil symbol to disaper? I personally usually wait unless I'm in a hurry, just for precautionary sakes. But come to find out that my wife always cranks it right away, so this leads me to the point of my post, will this cause accelerated wear and tear or should I not worry about it and go easy on her?

You'll be fine. All those pre-check lights you see are just there to ensure the bulb isn't burned out. I think that the Outie uses LED bulbs in the cluster so I think you'll be fine for the next 50 or so years.

As for your original question, I just crank away. Occasionally I'll wait, but it's very brief.
