My original SC file header looks exactly the same as yours:

Hi,

Does anybody can confirm if there is a hack or patch in order to use the turn-by-turn voice guidance properly?, currently the GPS only guide saying "turn to the right or turn to the left, etc" but it doesn't say the street name (this function exist on any other cheap gps) Any help will be appreciated

Your SC file header is fine but it looks like you have the wrong offset, looks like you have offset to hex byte 0x80 instead of decimal byte 80, so you have too much. The header bytes you need from the SC file is the first 80 bytes, so decimal offset 80 or hex offset 0x50, and they should look like this:

52 49 46 46 00 00 00 00 57 41 56 45 66 6D 74 20 34 00 00 00 FE FF 02 00 44 AC 00 00 94 3E 00 00 E8 02 00 00 22 00 00 08 03 00 00 00 BF AA 23 E9 58 CB 71 44 A1 19 FF FA 01 E4 CE 62 01 00 28 5C 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 64 61 74 61 00 00 00 00

In HxD goto the view menu and change the "Offset base" option to decimal to help find the correct bytes

In sonic stage did you uncheck the add copy protection check box when selecting your conversion options?

Madman the process I have been describing is to take a MP3 and convert it in Sonic Stage to a OMA (Atra3Plus) file and then splice a new header onto it to make it a SC file (MMCS audio file). To convert a SC file back to an OMA file is possible as I have done it but I haven't documented it yet; is this what you are trying to do as I am not sure what RC files you are referring to?

Evo>< Good piece of work, I suppose that to create oma files from sc files we have to remove first 80 bytes of header. Then we have to use Sonic Stage for converting files to mp3. Isn't it ?

Evo, yes, that's what I'm trying to do (convert from SC-file to Oma (or MP3 if possible, but OMA will do)). I thought your description was converting from SC to AA3 (or some other format), sorry for the confusion. Can you tell me how you did it?

Yes very close, so to create an OMA file from an SC file try the following:

1) Convert an MP3 in sonic stage to Atrac3plus 128kbps. To convert a file to the format; import into Sonic Stage and then from the track list view right click and select "Convert File Format"; in the pop-up select ATRAC3Plus, Bit rate 128kbps, and uncheck "Add copy protection"
2) Open your OMA file in HxD.
3) Do a hex search for the following values:
4F 00 4D 00 47 00 5F 00 4F 00 4C 00 49 00 4E 00 46 00
4) Delete all bytes after the search string, but not the search string; you now have a OMA file header with no audio stream.
5) Open your SC file in HxD hex editor and copy all the bytes from byte 80 onwards; this is the ATRC3Plus audio stream
6) Paste these bytes after you OMA header; thus adding the stream to the OMA header to make a new OMA file.
7) Save, and play

This is what I can remember doing, but I have a feeling you have to update the file to have the correct size, but I cannot remember what bytes this is in and I haven't made a note of it when I did it before... doh

Evo, tried this, but it didn't work. Get the message "sonicstage cannot import this type of file". Get the same message when I try to import/play a file with only the OMA-header, without datastream (don't know if this is possible, guess yes). You mention the filesize, I can imagine this being the problem

Evo, do you know where to put the filesize in the header of the OMA-file? I'm a bit stuck at this moment.

My wife and I just bought a Canadian 2010 Outlander XLS.

Loader: BLD-NR-261UM 1.09
Application: 00.41.02

I understand from an EVO website that BLD-NR-261UM 1.09 can be updated with just about any patch, but maybe I'm completely wrong on that, so my question is simple:

Will the 00008002 patch work in our vehicle?

Just one more question. If I download and install the patch, if I at some point down the road update the maps, does that update nullify the dvd-in-motion patch, requiring installing the patch again?

Thanks.
