DVD in motion patch for NR261UM
My wife and I just bought a Canadian 2010 Outlander XLS.
Loader: BLD-NR-261UM 1.09
Application: 00.41.02
I understand from an EVO website that BLD-NR-261UM 1.09 can be updated with just about any patch, but maybe I'm completely wrong on that, so my question is simple:
Will the 00008002 patch work in our vehicle?
Just one more question. If I download and install the patch, if I at some point down the road update the maps, does that update nullify the dvd-in-motion patch, requiring installing the patch again?
Thanks.

I then loaded a dvd into the OEM ceiling player, started the movie, hit "rear display" and the movie began playing on the navi display, however, as soon as the vehicle started to move above a crawl, the typical can't display while moving message appeared.
Tried loading the software again, but same result.
Any suggestions?
I paid for and downloaded the 00007004 patch, the recommended version for UM models, burned the disk and successfully loaded that version onto our vehicle's MMCS. I then checked the application number and, indeed, it had been updated from 41.02 to 70.04.

What is an "OEM Celiing player" and why does it need you to hit "Rear display" ?
It kinda sounds like you have an external DVD player wired into the aux-in on your mmcs ?
If you put the DVD into the mmcs itself, what happens ?
atb.
O.
I have attached a screen capture from the Mitsubishi "build it" website. There comes a point at which you can select options and accessories and, when you choose to do that, a new window pops up with everything from mud guards to the rear-seat, ceiling-mounted DVD player that I mentioned in my post on that thread.
Well, the original owner of the vehicle, from whom we bought the vehicle, bought that OEM DVD player. Rear passengers can watch the DVD at all times. Front passengers can watch the same DVD by selecting "rear video" from the "mode" screen. As long as the vehicle is not moving, front passengers can watch the DVD, but when the vehicle starts moving, the screen displays that "can't display" warning, as I said earlier.
But to finally answer your question, YES!, when I put the DVD in the MMCS itself, the DVD continues to play as the car moves from a standstill to any speed. Good! So your patch does work on our vehicle. Too bad that it does not allow what's playing on the rear DVD player to be shown on the front Navi screen after the vehicle starts moving.
Because that DVD accessory is so bloody expensive, I would bet that not many of them are sold.
Thanks very much for your great software. Sorry that I did not realize that the software was intended for the MMCS CD/DVD player, rather than the one that is ceiling-mounted.
I just discovered that for vehicles that have the Mitsubishi-installed, ceiling-mounted DVD player for the rear passengers AND the DVD-in-motion patch, when the DVD is inserted in the MMCS, the rear passengers can also watch the DVD on their screen when "Front" is selected after hitting the "Source" button on the ceiling-mounted DVD player. (If there is no DVD in the ceiling player, it will automatically default to the front as source.) And with the DVD-in-motion software-patch installed, the DVD plays on BOTH displays continuously, regards of the vehicle's speed.
So as long as the front and rear passengers can agree on what movie to watch, this is a nice option. Of course, if the rear passengers want to watch "Ruby and Max" for the tenth time, they should stick to the headphones, while the front passengers watch "Last Tango in Paris" and listen over the vehicle's speakers.

Hi Otaku.. any news about Video (Line-in) in-Motion patch for the MMCS? I have lost track on this.
