I think its not taking because we need to fool it into thinking its a "newer" version, rather than the same version but slightly modified.

 

I dont think it would matter if the rip was from the US or UK, its still the 30.94 regardless.
But the guy who got the 30.94 file name is goofyGrin, so he's probably one of us from the states, lol.

I tried it out, I have the 261UM 30.94, when the version up gets to about 60% it hangs and displays dvd drive doesnt work turn key off to retry. no matter how many times i retry it doesnt work, and the unit is not functioning, if i put a differnt version in, it works but the dvd says its out of region and shows a blue screen.

 

USA model? Are you testing with a region 1 disc? Did you say that your 2nd attempt at the version up succeeded?

 

Yeah im using a usa model, i patched the loading.kwi that was posted by goofygrin with the 30.94 patcher posted by otaku. i made an iso file and with the alldata.kwi posted from rcostin. that one didnt work, when i ejected the disk it asked me to insert upgrade disk, i put in a disk that is for a diff ap version, that one worked. when i put it on dvd mode it says that i have a wrong region disk and there are japaneese letters that show up.
