Help! My engine has started to surge horribly at about 80,000 miles. This isn't the surge/lag from when you push the accelerator. This is new and sometimes my vehicle dies. It's really bad when first starting although it does it in park and at stop lights. No codes pull. Haven't called the dealership yet, but I expect to get the run around when I do. Can anyone give me any ammo? Thanks!

 

Have you checked the oxygen sensor? EGR valve?

I haven't tried either. It does sound more like it could be the EGR valve. I'll try that first. I would think the O2 sensors would pull codes. I'll let you know if you're right.
