Default Is everybody being cheated ????

My Outlander 2011 D 2.2 has a SST automatic gearbox. After 100 000 km it is time to change the oil in the gearbox. My work shop manual tells me to use Dia-Queen SSTF-1. The thing is this oil is 2-3 times more expensive as oils used in other cars with the same type of gearbox. Audi and similar brands. On top of this the Dia-Queen SSTF-1 can normally not be bought so you can fill the gearbox yourself. In my case all kinds of guarantee are long gone.
To the questions.Has anybody out there jumped the prescribed oil and use something else and if so what kind/brand. Did it work out well.?

I used "Liqui Moly 3680 Top Tec 1200 ATF" for my Outlander with W6AJA-1-E1YA gear box. Works well.

Hi DaemOn,
Good to hear you dared to use another brand of oil in the gearbox. However the brand you have chosen is quite expensive. Have a look at ebay.uk and you will find a whole lot of products suitable for the Outlander gearbox in the price range from 10£/l .
Someone out there must have tested these less costly products. Please let us all know the result.

I'm getting the same ATF (I ordered 10 litters).
Would there be a problem if it is mixed with original "ATF-J3"? Since I understand, not all the fluid is flushed out in the process.
(probably mine is 135k km old. It looks light brown colour on the dipstick).

I used Comma AQDCT Plus Fully Synthetic Dual Clutch Transmission Fluid + new filter
Seems to be working fine

Dont mix oil types.

The SSTF is a great gearbox until somebody puts incompatible oil in to it.

Stick with the factory fluid.
