Default F.A.S.T. key probs

In a 2008 outlander, I'm having trouble with the F.A.S.T key system. Got out of the car and locked it using keyless. Came out of store and tried to unlock with keyless to no avail. Unlocked manually with key in door. Alarm (horn)sounded. Got the door open and put key into ignition to stop alarm. Changed battery in in keyless remote. Red LED will light up but it won't function the locks or panic in any way and the F.A.S.T. key won't work. The actual key has to be placed in the ignition. I bought the car used and only have the one key system. Ice tried programming the keyless remote according to owners manual and nothing will work. What could be the issue? How do I fix this? HELP!

Looks like your key lost the sync with the car.

Try pressing the lock button repeatedly 10 times or more.

I can diagnose your issue if you're local.
