Default Fixing rubber seal on lip of hood

Hey all,

I have a 2009 Outlander v6. The rubber seal at the lip of the hood has come off except at the spots were it is attached to the hood with a plug.

Any good ideas how to attach this again. Mitsubishi said double sided tape - but I think that isn't going to hold in the colder weather.

I had the car rust proofed, and they also spray the engine bay so maybe that contributed to the thing coming off.

Anyway, any suggestions would be really helpful.

thanks!!!

Here's what I would do. First if any adhesive from the factory is on the underside of the hood, I would remove it with a solvent. Then I would get gorilla glue, or an equivalent product to reattach the seal. Glue small sections at a time and use plenty of masking tape to hold each section in place. Leave the tape on for a couple of hours to make sure the glue dries and cures. You want to make sure the entire seal is glued to the hood. If any part of the seal is not glued and still hanging down, it could eventually pull down the rest of the seal.
