Default Fuel guage - display increments

My electronic gas guage displays dropping fuel volume in what seems to be quarter inch increments -is this normal? I took a close look at the pixels in the fuel display bar, which are of course pretty small, but as fuel drops the display drops by several pixels rather than byone or two. The result is while driving, my tank appears to be exactly half full, and the next fuel level indication is a quarter inch below that, instantly.
I get about 350km per tank though.

I don't think so. Mine was about empty the other night and i noticed the lit area was about 1/8" in and then when the "FILL UP NOW" light came on it was about 1/16". Of course i didn't actually measure them, but i don't think it displays in 1/4" increments only.

It seems to be 1/8 increments or so....though every now and then it seems to be 1/4. Been trying to figure it out ever since we got the car.

However, we've been using the km left more than anything. Seem to be averaging 500-550km per tank of gas. We do typically end up filling before the reminder to fill comes on.

I know when the low fuel light comes on the first time you have 2 gallons left

kene4466,
When you say "the first time", what do you mean. Mine came on and stayed on until i filled it up. Is there another more drastic warning light that appears on the dash?

I just fill up by mileage now or by the fill up now reminder.

The gas pump symbol starts flashing more quickly as you get closer to empty, then it gives you a huge final warning that stays on the screen. That was with about 1/2 gallon left in the tank, I don't know what happens after that...

I have a feeling that one of the warning is when 50KM are left on the driving range, and the other one is based on the fuel left in the tank, but this is pure speculation.
