Default Gear oil recall and spec change, thoughts?

So I just had my dealer perform AWD service. Turns out they use All-Fleet 90 weight. I spoke to a closer dealer and they said the spec changed from 80 in the manual to 90 and that the Mitsubishi oil has been recalled due to EPA issues. So I guess I'll have to wait and see what the new Mitusbishi part # will be for I generally like to use Mitsubishi parts whenever possible.

Anyone else have any recommended 90 gear oil?

Interesting thanks, any more details, as to why, what were the issues?

I am surprised they performed the service. I was told there was nothing equivalent or recommended to use at the moment ( so if anything else was used warranty would be violated) but they would be releasing something in the future. Of course that was Wednesday so maybe this is the new one to use. Or maybe I misread and they did not change the fluids.

They told me they changed it. I didn’t challenge it. I was just trying to get the details of if it was changed and what fluid was used. It wasn’t till I called another dealer that they said they have nothing to sell since it’s been recalled due to the EPA. I’ll probably change it out myself once the new fluid is available. I might call corporate, but right now I’m dealing with a broken windshield replacment...

At 60k miles, I put mobil1 75w90 in both tcase and rear diff. I've periodically checked it....doing just fine at 213k miles.

I was wondering what to put in the rear diff. The dealer told me they need to change it at a 180 dollar cost. I was trying to find out how hard it is to do in my 15 Outlander. I was hoping to put Royal Purple in but the closest I can find is 75w90. Anyone else use anything different than SAE 80/90

I used Amsoil SG 75w110 in my Diff and transfer case. No issues thus far.
