Default Gracenote database / ripping audio CD's

Hi everyone, just purchased an 2008 Dark grey Outlander XLS w/ Nav and the works. This vehicle is mint, absolutely wicked, but I am a bit disappointed with the Music server and the audio CD ripping function.

I have ensured that all of my music is properly tagged using both Winamp (which uses gracenote online) and Windows media player, yet it seems that only some of my CD's are recoginized for CD text and others are not.

The dealer has an update CD for me (Nav/Gracenote), has anyone else in Canada applied this? Does anyone have suggestions for burning CD's so that the music server will recognize the ID3 tags????

Thanks

Make sure the songs are titled correctly when putting them onto your burning program.

I have confirmed that and even gone to great length's to ensure each song is titled properly.
Any other idea's? (that was a pretty generic answer)

What I meant is if your using lets say NERO and you put a song onto there to burn, if you go to properties you can change the title that is displayed and artist.

As antlip said, you HAVE TO check so, to be sure is properly set as CD Text.

Here'sa similar question. If you put a store bought CD into the MMCS shouldn't the song titles and such be downloaded? The wife loaded the "Daughtry" CD, but there's no song titles found. It only lists "unknown" artist/title.

I can understand if you put a homeade CD into it the info may not transfer, but with new CD's i would think they would all be formatted for that now.

I've had several store bought CD's not come up. Not sure what the method to madness is.

i have only had one CD have the songs come up and it was a burn CD that i got off the street. Any other one i uploaded came up with no titles. You can always add the titles your self thats what i did

I wonder if the problem is the CD data or the MMCS?

When i put the CD into my home computer the download software automatically shows the song titles/length/etc. I can't understand why the Mitsu Music Server wouldn't be able to do the same.

The issue is with the Gracenote database... its clearly WAY out of date as I put in a store bought Steve Earle CD (copperhead road) and it didn't find the text for that. Supposidly there is a UPDATE Nav/Gracenote CD available at my dealership... I am still trying to get a price from them but hopefully this will fix it. It sucks having to type all of these songs in.
