My 2010 Outie SE has a regular 6-CD radio stereo. My steering wheel has the hands free buttons on, ready for hands free module upgrades, according to my dealer.

I just ordered the hands free module (bluetooth) kit (MZ314537). The instructions are quite straight forward. However, I see the following note on the front page: "Note: In order to add the functionality of the fuse link system, a USB adapter kit is required."

I am puzzled and confused.

Once I installed the Hand-free kit, am I already having the "Hands-free fuse link system"??
What exactly does the note here mean?

My car don't come with the USB adapter, but by adding the USB adapter, what extra functionality will I have besides the ability of connection to a USB device?

Is this the simple answer: BT + USB = FUSE???.....

 

USB adaptor will let you plug in your iPod (?), charge your cell phone.

I had it on my 2011 -with the FUSE- and rarely used the USB port. With the BT, I don't think you really need it.

I just added the BT module to my 2012. No USB port.
