i see from the mitsu website that the AWD 09 outties come standard with heated side view mirrors
i have an 07 XLS and am thinking of getting them for this coming winter
are the 07s pre-wired for this?
anyone done this yet or has a diagram i can follow?

I installed the heated mirrors in my '07 XLS and YES, already had the prewiring; only is necessary to run two wires from the connector of the element heating to door's harness. When you turn on the defrooster, the heated element in mirror turn on too. . .

 

Is there anything you havent installed in your Outie?

also im not much of a handyman with cars...is it easy to diy?

 

I replaced the mirror completely (housing + mirror), so was something laborious; in your Outie, only you will have to replace the mirrors and to run two cables by each mirror, but it still can be much work (to remove and diassemble the mirror, to remove covers and door panel). I remember that mitsupartman posted the installation of one heated mirror, I will look for his post, and I will send wiring diagram to you . . .
