Default Help with towing feedback

Hi i am looking to buy a 2014 2wd outlander i have a great one lined up but my o ly concern is will it tow my camper trailer ok, the tare weight on trailer is 300kg i assume loaded up its more like 500 to 600 kg maybe more.

I only tow 2 times a year but i am concerned never having towed with one.
I owned a 2009 2.4 ltr outlander and it was a gem i towed a 18ft caravan with it which was a mighty effort but it did the job.

Has anyome towed with the 2lte ? I see 114kw and 195 nm tourque for 2.0 ltr and 125kw and 225nm tourque for the 2.4 ltr.

The cost of the 2.4 is about 2-3k more then i wanted to pay thats my issue, feedback appreciated.

The Mitsu site says 750kg max without trailer brakes so I suppose you could get away with it...

It was over 1000 with trailer brakes so I suspect it wouldn't even be that bad as long as you were on flat ground, though I have never towed anything I am just going by the numbers.

I wouldn't expect your loading would double the weight of the whole trailer though...

I'd go for the 2.4 ltr. Have you driven both? The 2.0 ltr is pretty gutless. Your planning to tow at all would be incentive enough for me to upgrade to the larger motor.

I tow my boat (+/- 800kg) with my 2010 3.0 ltr V6 AWD and am ever thankful for the 6 spd transmission. Gas mileage is garbage though when towing, especially in hilly conditions.

Only other thingI would confirm is that it has a transmission cooler. My 2010 has one stock, but I don't know if all years include one.
