Default space above wheel

I noticed in the photos of the one I am looking, it has a larger space above the top of wheel to bottom of fender/wheel well. It almost looks like they put low profile tires on it, hard to day but in looking at photos from other 05 outlanders this one seems to have a bigger gap. maybe it is just my eyes

thanks.

I am actually on the Central California Coast. i have found some a few hours away. ... which i might go that far to pick one up. but i don't have any near me to test drive first. I want to make sure there's enough room in the front seats (being that its based on a compact car). i am also considering a midsize car , like honda accord.

thanks again!

Ya older models have rear control arm issues($250?each) and both front bearings/bushings/tierod(forget which one as im not entirely mechanically inclined-lol$300-$350each)went on my 2006 outlander. These repairs were to my knowledge done around 100,000km, and were known as a weakness as per mechanics at garage. Other than that car served me well with no repairs...traded in for RVR at 156,000kms. Bear in mind Canadian repair prices are through the roof at $90.00-$110.00per hour and always charged book rate. 1hr job usually priced at 2-3 hrs lol

thanks for the info... going to take the plunge and get this outlander tommorow morning. I am trading in a vehicle a year newer and 59k miles but it will save me money. as long as the outlander does not nickle and dime me I will be ok. Even if I have to put a few grand into over the years I will still be ahead of the game.

FWIW, my daughter has an 06 and it has been pretty much bulletproof so far. The only complaint is with the very dim headlamps. We've tried about everything (polishing lenses, replacing lamps, etc) to no avail. Considering whether we can find someone to adapt the later model projector housings. Any of you with <06 models have this issue and/or resolved it??
