How do i activate AUX on J-01 MMCS
Hi Guys,
Greetings from Nairobi / Kenya!
First i would like to thank the various members of the Outlander forum, they have taught me a lot about the Mitsubishi Outlander......
2 months ago bought a 2007 used Mitsubishi outlander from Japan, i must say i am impressed with this car....haven't had any problems with it, so far i have manged to change a few things e.g. install an aftermarket parking sensor (car came with reversing camera), FM expander etc
I wanted to activate the aux option in the MMCS, so that i can be enjoying music stored in my IPOD apart from the ones saved in the music server. I opened up the dash and removed the MMCS and i saw the connectors "guys have been discussing in the forum", i also checked under the passengers seat and saw 1 part of the VTR harness (the other looped part is missing). I also checked on the back side of the center armrest and saw the 3 wires for aux input though the plug-in-ports is missing.
Now correct me if am wrong, on the female part of the VTR harness i need to loop the wires the same way it looks like in the male part of the VTR harness (pin 10 and 17 - being the most important) then behind the MMCS can i just clip it a normal 3.5MM aux cable and replace the 3 wires (green, black and blue)?. I am doing the soldering since in my country i cant get the VTR harness nor the Mitsubishi Aux cable. (see attched photos)
Thanxs in advance for all your help guys.

Just make ground connection to 24 th terminal with is orange-white color cable from your picture. Than you will get aux icon on MMCS.
pin 25 for left audio
pin 26 for left audio shield
pin 9 for right audio
pin 8 for right audio shield
Good luck

in my 2007 you just need to hold down the CD button for a couple of seconds to activate AUX - sorry someone ripped out your RCA jacks - I tried hacking in a mini cable with a Ground Loop Noise Filter to very poor results, so I just took it out and left the factory setup and bought an RCA to mini cable
